Credit Counselling

Credit counselling services accreditation through CCA is available only to members of the Canadian Association for Financial Empowerment (CAFE). Accreditation with CCA positions member agencies of CAFE to keep pace with accountability expectations and lead when it comes to service quality.

The Right Fit

Organizations are asked to meet a common set of Organizational Standards, as well as standards specific to their credit counselling services.

The Organizational Standards look at the whole organization and cover things like governance, management, planning and evaluation, quality improvement, and important risk management functions. The standards also look for person-centred services, a strength-based approach, accessibility of services, and engagement and responsiveness to the communities served.

The Credit Counselling Standards assess aspects of service delivery including intake, assessment and service planning, staffing, training and supervisions of credit counsellors, and administration of Debt Manage
